Born in Wakayama, Japan 1922. He participated in Freedom of Art Society in 1948 to study art. In 1952, he had award-winning from daily news award. He met Yoshihara Jiro through Freedom of Art Society and he proved the Gutai Art Association was founded in 1954. After two years, despite the success of his first solo exhibition was held in Kobe, the Gutai Group has been in the Kansai region as a base and later moved to Tokyo in 1959. His works most created by ‘an abacus’ as the theme and was born in this era of Tokyo.During the 15th independent exhibition in 1963, it was the first time to show the ‘abacus’ art work to the world and he will continue to contribute his effort to this theme of lifelong creations. He repeatedly exhibited and participated in various art activities, for example, in Japanese Art Festival and Japanese Contemporary Art exhibitions. In 1989, he passed away at 66 years old.
