"Apple" is one of the portfolio "Ads" made up of 10 different screen prints executed in 1985. Del Yocam, the first COO of Apple, commissioned Warhol as part of the company’s advertising campaign, and the work was produced in 1985, the year after Macintosh was released.
In the “Ads” series, Warhol transformed popular corporate advertising in the American consumer culture such as fashion, film, industry and technology into Pop art pieces with different identities, integrating high and low cultural reference.
