Consignment Procedure

We welcome consignment all the time. Please kindly send the Consignment Application if you are interested to consign with us!

Valuation

Please send information about your work (artist name, title of work, size, technique, year of the work, exhibition history, work condition, etc.) and an image of your work. Details can be sent by e-mail(info@newartest.com) or by mail. Valuation will be made based on the information you provide.

Send Your Artworks

After the confirmation on the estimate provided, you can either pay the shipping fee and send the artwork(s) to us, or bring it directly to us. We will examine the condition and check the provenance, then will decide the estimate and discuss with the reserve price accordingly. We will return the artwork(s) if you choose not to consign after the estimate is received. (No need to make any payments to New Art Est-Ouest at this stage.)

Cash in

Advanced system is for customers who want to cash in shortly, but also want to see the possibility of being consigned in auction.

Advance System

The advance system is a system in which advance payment can be made based on the estimate of the consignment at the auction. The amount of advance payment will be paid up to 50% of the low estimate, depending on the artworks. If the artwork is sold at auction, we will pay the balance after deducting the upfront payment and applicable expenses. If the artwork remains unsold, the artwork will be returned within 30 days from the auction date, after the full refund of the prepaid amount and payment of the applicable expenses.

Purchase

If you are in a hurry to cash in, please contact us for Purchase.
Based on the provided information, our experienced staff will examine the market comprehensively and offer an appropriate price for Purchase. We will suggest both estimate for the auction and the price for Purchase.

Consignment Contract

Once the reserve price and estimate are agreed with both parties and confirm to consign in the auction, the official consignment contract stating the consignment handling charges and related expenses will be issued accordingly. For details, please refer to the Conditions of Consignment or contact us.

Aftersale

There will be the "Aftesale" for 10 business days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in Japan, from the day after the end of the auction (or the last day if the auction is held for multiple days) for the unsold lots at the auction.

Payment

Payment for the successful bid to consignor will be made in 30-50days after subtracting the agreed consignment handling fee and miscellaneous expenses from the hammer price.
